First Need Assessment Field Trip

Embark on a journey into the heart of Khurda's agricultural landscape as we unveil the impactful work of our dedicated team in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Change Adaptation. On November 30, 2023, our team orchestrated focused and positive engagement through insightful focus group sessions in Gobindpur and Chakapada villages, strategically positioned within the Begunia Block of Khurda District.

In the expansive open spaces of Gobindpur, our male farmers' focus group served as a beacon of resilience. Approximately 13 enthusiastic participants actively shared their experiences, emphasizing key issues like water scarcity and seed quality. Facilitated by Sunil and supported by our committed staff, the session concluded harmoniously with a group picture at 12:16.

Transitioning to the closed spaces of Chakapada, our female farmers' focus group was a testament to the empowering exchange of ideas. Starting with 16 women and 1 child, the session dynamically evolved with the addition of 4 more women. Their passionate discussions delved into changing weather patterns and the shift to chemical fertilizers, revealing a rich tapestry of adaptive strategies, including the exploration of borewells. Led by Sunil and supported by our dedicated team, the session wrapped up on a positive note with a group picture at 12:16.

These focus group sessions, characterized by constructive dialogues and insightful perspectives, underscore the proactive measures our team has taken to address water scarcity and seed quality. The challenges posed by the hilly terrain were met with innovative solutions. Stakeholders are encouraged by the community's active participation and are keenly observing the positive impact of our interventions.
